How to make use of instagram for effective marketing.

There are no hard and fast rules as to how to make sure your Instagram posts are working for you. There is only a few rule of thumbs and I think Neil Patel, author and internet entrepreneur, nailed quite a few of them down in an article.

But I'll make it short if you don't have the time to go through each of them yourself and I'll toggle the importance according to what I think is important to an Instagram post without beating around the bush.

Invest in a Good Picture

Not every single one of your posts has to be postcard-ready - all you need is a few good quality pictures that highlight the best of your products. There was once a food delivery site that I followed on Twitter who made the best food but had the worst-lit pictures on Instagram. I thought it was a waste of potential and asked them if they could possibly tweak their pictures a little with filters before posting it. They did and their pictures have been mouth-watering ever since!

Get Personal

Give your Instagram account a face, someone they can relate to or post a behind-the-scene picture. There is a good reason why people hunt down BTS YouTube videos before/watching a movie or television series. Human beings are curious that way. Once they can relate to you, they're half-way hooked.

Be Funny, Be Quirky, Be In-the-Know, Be Cool or Any One of Those

If you can't be funny, be quirky. If you can't be quirky, be in-the-know. If you can't be in-the-know, be cool. Pick one. This way, people remember you whenever you peek around the corner. They see you from the corner of their eye and know it's you and they're interested all over again. That's branding.

Get an Influencer

I was born in the day and age when you call someone an influencer, your parents probably thought that they were drug pushers. But in the digital age, it means someone who has a large following on their social media accounts. If you can afford to pay one of those Youtubers or Instagrammers to highlight your product or service, great. If you can't, find someone affordable you can work with, preferably within the same industry BUT not your competitor. Did I really have to say that? =) The is a list on the internet that shows you the ones with an International platform. If you're going local, don't be afraid to negotiate with them.

Use Instagram Ads

As long as you keep to your budget and have a pretty eye-catching short video, GO FOR IT. You shouldn't be spending thousands on the ads, anyway. Once you've split the cost up between Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google, you might enjoy a decent ROI. What you want to enjoy, at the end of the day, is eyeballs.

Run Contests and Encourage Positive Engagement

Posts that offer something nifty or simple will surprise even the best of us. Some people will try their darnest to win a notebook, a pair of tickets to a theme park, a bottle of hand lotion, a holiday, air tickets or a grand piano. If it's free, not many will complain. And besides, compared to Facebook, Instagram's got fewer rules to follow... for now.

Use Hashtags

I can't say enough about how some people are using hashtags wrongly. You don't post a picture of your baby and use a hashtag like #AngieandBobsBabyisSoCute. 1) Nobody else is using that hashtag so it's a complete waste of time (and space); 2) You want to use a hashtag that people can search for and are already using; 3) Find other similar posts for inspiration and like for exposure. You can also come up with your own cool hashtag and promote it everywhere. I mean, EVERYWHERE so that your friends, family, and followers will use it too. Now, THAT's the purpose of a hashtag.

Good luck and have fun!

ways to improve social media reach

Many entrepreneurs worldwide are now aware that having a strong social presence is an essential aspect of marketing success. But, how do you know that your online presence is helping you to achieve your overall business objectives?

Of course, every social media account that you open takes time to manage. And, in business, time is money!

So, are 5 ways that can improve your social media profile today...

1. Consider the Social Media Platforms that you are Using
There are so many channels, so which one is right for your business?

To keep everything simple, each and every company would probably benefit from having a Twitter and Facebook page. Linked In is great for Business to Business, and Google + is great for Search Engine Optimisation. So, depending on the business, I usually recommend that people concentrate their efforts on these platforms.

However, I always tell people that you need to be where your audience is. If you are marketing make-up or Travel, Instagram is a fantastic place to be. Pinterest can work great for interior designers. Running a training business? YouTube will work wonders.

Focus your efforts on where you can get the most engagement, and therefore the most return.

2. Consider how your Company is using these Accounts
Are the posts on your social accounts valuable, interesting and engaging for the target audience? Use your Twitter Analytics and Facebook Insights to assess what is being shared and gaining interactions. Do more it this!

Make sure you are not focusing on self-promotion activities, as this can be off putting. Try to share interesting blogs, images (original) videos and quizzes that will keep people engaged.

3. Evaluate your social media goals
It is difficult to overlook what your business initially wished to accomplish from online networking; reexamine this with your marketing team so as to concentrate on why did you select specific platforms in any case. Is it accurate to say that it was to increase customer service or customer referrals or online recommendations? Was this done to increase trust or brand awareness to build loyalty? These objectives ought to be evaluated first to guarantee that you have not been diverted the way. In case more dedication is required on specific social profiles, list them and find out what assets will be required to handle these issues.

4. Consider who is actually managing your social profiles
It is highly important that different team members of your company should involve in the use of the company's social media. You can assign different social media objectives to various team members and this will make sure that the right person is employed to keep your company on the top of your online presence.

For instance, you can assign one person to handle the updates that are relevant to your marketing plan. A technical member can be assigned to handle all the queries relating to the technology used.

5. How frequently you are using the various social platforms?
Many marketers always think about "how many times the social platforms will be used". Well, there is no wrong or right answer. This can be easily determined by your target audience and social media objectives.

Your resources also need to be considered here. Sometimes, it is better to cut down on the amount that you post, and focus on quantity, rather than quality.

ways to use hash tags correctly in affiliate marketing

The world of social Media has brought us into the era of hashtags, where hashtags have become a major source of engagement and attention. Hashtags not only give away the inside meaning of a picture or a tweet, but are also essential when it comes to ranking a post in search results.

2. Test different hashtags
There are many organizations that prepare a list of hashtags that are relevant to their new launch or are interesting along with being relevant to their purpose. After a few days of testing, they cut off the tags that are not gaining any traction and use the ones that have been popular during the testing days. You can always use this method to figure out which hashtags work the best for your post and use them to maximize the engagement on your posts.

3. Use relevant hashtags on different platforms

This is something that has been trending for a while now and many people are using this method in order to tell a story and make it go viral over the social media platform. This is a relatively new way of using a hashtag, but if used wisely you can create a sensation with your story.

Hashtags do help in rankings but it is also wise to use a few hashtags that are relevant to the post that you are trying to post on social media. There are people who overdo hashtags and it just makes the post too business oriented. Just have a few of them and make it stand out. Having 3 hashtags per post is recommended so make sure you have a minimum of three hashtags for every post.

get contents fast for website

Curate content for your readers and become the go-to source of the best information on the internet. Inside you'll learn how to use Twitter to share content your readers want to read. First, make a Twitter list of the best content creators in your selected topic. Second, search popular niche hashtags. Finally, capture it all in a spreadsheet.

Before You Begin

When searching for content to share keep your blog's categories in mind.

For instance, if you're a food blogger search for recipes, healthy ingredients, and cooking tips. You may even want to go deeper, like Vegan, soups, summer salads, or spring cooking from the garden.

Make a Twitter List

Start by creating a Twitter list with the top content creators for your chosen topic.

To do this,

Go to your profile, click on your picture, in the drop-down menu select lists
Create a new list
Choose to make it private or public
Add a description
The next time you need to curate content just go to your topic specific list and scroll. Heart anything that catches your eye to review later.
Use Twitter Search

Your chosen topic has hashtags associated with it. For instance, a food blogger may use #eatingclean,#yum, or #foodoftheday. Just enter it into the search bar.

Tip: save the search for later by clicking on the 3 dots on the far right side of your screen then selecting save this search.

Now, just scroll the feed and like anything you want to read, watch, or listen to.

You'll start to notice the same faces. When you find a content creator who consistently shares good stuff, add them to your topical list.

Make a Spreadsheet

I like to keep my content in a spreadsheet. You can create one in Google Sheets. Categories I include are

Name of post
URL of post
Thoughts, tips, or takeaways
Topical searches
Date shared
Where shared (Tw, FB, G+, or Email)
Each time I do a session I add to this list. It makes for quick sharing on social media, in my email newsletters, and in roundup blog posts.

Putting It All Together

Add time to curate content to your daily or weekly schedule. Set aside 25-minutes. I use the Pomodoro technique but you can simply set the timer on your smartphone.

Spend the first 10-minutes scrolling one of your lists or searches. Highlight anything you want to explore.

Spend the next 10-minutes visiting or viewing the content. Take notice of any tips or points you want to share.

Finally, spend the remainder of the time adding it to your spreadsheet.

As you can see, Twitter can be a simple and fast source of new content to share with your readers. Using lists and saved searches will keep everything in order. Capture everything in a spreadsheet or use an app like Evernote.
